(More customer reviews)This is definitely *not* a piece of "fine furniture." The "hand carved" vertical rods are basically just dowls with slight irregularities. The finish is very spotty with lots of blemishes. Some of the joints have gaps in them. A big piece of the finish came off when I peeled off the factory sticker.
That said, it works for me because I want a piece that looks like it's been around for a while (i.e. it looks a bit "distressed") and it is generally attractive and sturdy.
For the money, I expected much better craftsmanship, but because I wanted something that looked a bit "antique" I'm satisfied with what I got. My biggest concern is that I can't say how well the finish will hold up over time, since it seems to come off so easily.
