However, what is not obvious from the picture is that it is very shallow, so it really is not suitable as a sugar bowl. I have some moonstones in it, just to be decorative. Also, of course, if you did fill it with sugar or candies, you couldn't see the prettiest part. Just pay attention to the measurements-- it is a dainty little thing, 3 1/2" across and about a half-inch deep.
