While this Ashley End table is more expensive (at least as listed on Amazon), it is also more effective at it's price point. The slate has a cleaner appearance, better finish, and more vibrant color. Assembly was a minor hassle - moreso than the 4D Concepts end table - but the end product is sturdier, with a better appearance. The dimensions are also more logical, and it happens to match well with both my central coffee table (an Ashley product) and my slate kitchen-area table (not Ashley).
My advice is to pay the extra money and buy this higher quality end table, at least as compared with the 4D Concepts end table. That 4D Concepts table now has a more functional role in a less visible part of my living area.
