I got this to put next to my chair-and-a-half so I could put my CPU on the bottom shelf and attach my monitor on a swing-arm, so I could sit in a comfy chair while I use my computer. The carving on the top creates holes, so I was able to use some holes for cord management and one hole near the edge as a grommet hole for the Ergotron computer arm. It's not what it was designed for, but it works great. I can sink back with my feet up with the keyboard in my lap (compact keyboard with a touch pad). It's very pretty, too; would be nice in a hallway or behind a sofa. Great for the price, and works well for my improvised use.
